What it is
The Vaillant 0020236855 is a non-return valve in the 1 inch version. It is fitted to compatible Vaillant unvented hot water cylinders, where it prevents reverse flow through the pipework it serves. The valve maintains one-way flow so that water cannot travel back through the circuit.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water flowing in the wrong direction through the pipework the valve serves
- Gravity circulation or unwanted heat migration when the system is not calling for heat
- Reduced or inconsistent flow at outlets served by the valve
- Visible leakage, weeping or scale build-up around the valve body
- Noise or vibration from the valve under normal flow conditions
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model against the fit list above
- Check that the existing valve is the 1 inch version before ordering
- Note the flow direction arrow on the existing valve so the new one is fitted the same way round
- Inspect the surrounding pipework and connections for damage before refitting
