What it is
The Vaillant 0020236296 is a 22mm compression fitting supplied by Vaillant for use within its domestic heating appliance range. It forms part of the pipework connection on the listed Home, Ecofit and Ecotec models, where a secure mechanical joint on 22mm pipe is required. The fitting seals by compressing an olive onto the pipe as the nut is tightened.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible weeping or dampness around the compression joint
- Water staining, scale or corrosion on the nut, body or adjacent pipework
- A joint that will not seal after re-tightening, indicating a distorted olive or damaged seat
- Cracking or deformation of the fitting body
- Persistent pressure loss traced to the joint during a service or leak check
Before you order
- Confirm the pipework at the joint is 22mm
- Check your appliance model against the fitment list above before ordering
- Inspect the existing olive and nut for damage, as these may also need attention
- Verify the part number 0020236296 matches the item being replaced
