What it is

The Vaillant air inlet duct, part number 0020233508, is a component of the combustion air supply path on the VUW 436/5-7 appliance family. It routes incoming air to the boiler's air intake as part of the sealed air/flue arrangement. It is a manufacturer-supplied part for this specific appliance range.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Visible cracks, splits or holes in the duct body
  • Perished, hardened or missing seals allowing air to escape or enter
  • The duct sitting loose or failing to seat correctly at its connection points
  • Distortion or heat-related damage to the duct
  • Whistling or unusual intake noise traced to the duct

Before you order

  • Check the appliance data plate and confirm the model is VUW 436/5-7 or Ecotec Exclusive 843 VUW 436/5-7 (2016)
  • Confirm the existing part number 0020233508 against the manufacturer's parts list for your appliance
  • Inspect the duct and its seals in place so you know whether any other air or flue components also need attention
  • Verify the boiler is isolated and safe to work on before removing any part of the air/flue system
