What it is
The Vaillant 0020231448 is a flue gas elbow with a 60/100 mm concentric connection, manufactured in PP (polypropylene). It forms part of the flue assembly on Vaillant condensing appliances, turning the flue run through a change of direction while carrying combustion products away from the heat exchanger to the terminal. The PP construction is suited to the acidic condensate carried in the flue gas stream on condensing boilers.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible cracking, distortion or heat damage to the elbow body
- Condensate staining, white deposits or corrosion at the joint faces
- Loose or perished seals allowing flue gas to escape at the elbow
- Combustion readings drifting outside the expected range on service
- Boiler lockout or flue fault codes traced to the flue run
Before you order
- Check the appliance model and GC number to confirm the flue system and diameter match
- Inspect the existing seals and joints; a replacement gasket or seal may be needed to complete the joint
