What it is
The Vaillant 0020231196 is a central heating service valve used on Vaillant Ecofit and HOME series gas boilers. It provides an isolation point on the heating circuit so the appliance can be shut down and drained for servicing or component replacement. It is listed under isolation valves in the boiler spares range.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Weeping or dripping from the valve spindle when operated
- Water tracking past the compression nut or body joint
- Valve will not shut off fully, so the heating circuit cannot be isolated
- Handle or spindle seized, stiff or rounded off
- Corrosion, scale or staining around the valve body
Before you order
- Confirm your boiler model against the fitment list above
- Check whether the central heating or domestic hot water valve is the one required
- Compare the part number on the existing valve with 0020231196 where it is legible
- Have the appliance GC number to hand when checking the manufacturer's parts list
