What it is
The Vaillant 0020231180 is a lip seal used in Vaillant gas boilers. It forms a sealing face around a rotating or sliding component, preventing water or flue gas loss at the joint. It is listed by Vaillant under O-rings, washers and gaskets for the Home Regular, Ecofit Pure, Ecofit Sustain and Ecotec Plus families.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible water weeping or staining around the seal seating area
- Damp or corroded metalwork adjacent to the seal
- A hardened, cracked or flattened seal lip on inspection
- Loss of system pressure with no other obvious cause
- Traces of scale or debris trapped under the seal lip
Before you order
- Confirm the appliance model and variant against the fit list above

- Inspect the mating surface for scoring or corrosion before fitting a new seal
- Have the correct sealing washers or O-rings for adjacent joints to hand if the assembly is being disturbed

Fitment listings are a guide, not a guarantee. Plant-room assemblies get modified on site more often than not. Send us the GC number off the data badge and a photo of the existing valve and we will confirm before anything is dispatched.
