What it is
The Vaillant 0020231141 is a pump motor used in a range of Vaillant gas boilers, including the Ecofit Pure, Ecofit Sustain, HOME and Ecotec Sustain families. It drives the boiler's circulating pump, which moves water around the heating circuit and through the domestic hot water side of combi models. When the motor fails, circulation stops and the boiler can no longer distribute heat reliably.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Grinding, whining or rumbling noise from the pump area when the boiler runs
- Radiators fail to heat, or heat unevenly, despite the boiler firing
- Boiler overheats, locks out or cycles on temperature because circulation has stopped
- Domestic hot water temperature fluctuates or runs cold on combi models
- Pump head does not turn or is stiff when checked with the power isolated
Before you order
- Confirm your boiler model and GC number against the fit list above
- Check the part number on the existing pump motor matches 0020231141
- Establish whether the motor alone is required or whether the pump head or full assembly is being replaced
- Isolate the electrical supply and water before removing the existing component
