What it is
The Vaillant 0020216847 is a fan assembly for Vaillant gas boilers. It draws air into the combustion chamber and pushes flue products out through the flue system, so the burner can run at the correct air/gas mix. The assembly is listed by Vaillant under the spare part type fan impellors and fan assembly and is used across a number of VUW combi models.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler locks out or fails to fire, often with a fan or air pressure fault code on the display
- The fan runs noisily, with rumbling, scraping or a high-pitched whine on start-up
- The fan does not spin when the boiler is called for heat
- The appliance overheats or shuts down intermittently during a demand
- Repeated lockouts that clear after a reset but return shortly afterwards
