What it is

The Vaillant 0020213915 is a spark generator used in Vaillant gas boilers. It produces the high-voltage spark that lights the burner at the ignition electrode during a demand for heat or hot water. It is listed as an ignition unit within the gas boiler spares range.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The boiler attempts to fire but there is no spark at the ignition electrode
  • Repeated ignition lockouts or fault codes relating to failed ignition
  • Intermittent ignition, with the boiler firing on some attempts and not others
  • Visible cracking, scorching or a burnt smell from the spark generator body
  • No spark output when the generator is tested at the electrode lead

Before you order

  • Confirm your boiler model and GC number against the fitment list above
  • Check the ignition electrode and its lead before condemning the spark generator, as a damaged electrode or lead can mimic a failed generator
  • Compare the part number on the existing component with 0020213915
  • Check the boiler's model year or revision, as later R1 versions are listed separately
