What it is
The Vaillant 0020213900 Pressure Safeguard is an air pressure switch used on Vaillant VU 446/5-5 and VU 606/5-5 gas boilers. It monitors the pressure signal within the appliance's air path and confirms that the fan is proving sufficient airflow before the boiler is allowed to fire. It is listed in the air pressure switch category of Vaillant gas boiler spares.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler locks out or fails to fire even though the fan runs
- Repeated lockouts on start-up that clear after a reset, then return
- The fan runs but the boiler never reaches ignition
- Intermittent operation that varies with flue or air path conditions
- No switching signal from the pressure switch when the fan is proving airflow
Before you order
- Confirm the boiler model and GC number against the appliance data badge
- Check the existing pressure switch part number before ordering
- Inspect the sensing tubes and connections for blockage, kinks or splits before assuming the switch has failed
- Confirm the fault is not caused by the fan or flue before replacing the switch
