What it is
The Vaillant 0020211453 is a high-efficiency circulating pump used in Vaillant VU 466 open-vented gas boilers and their Ecomax and Ecotec derivatives. It moves primary water around the heating circuit and through the boiler's heat exchanger. The pump is a serviceable component within the appliance's hydraulic assembly.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler fires but the heating circuit stays cold, indicating poor or no circulation
- Grinding, whining or rumbling noise from the pump body during operation
- The boiler repeatedly locks out or trips on overheat despite the system being full of water
- The pump head is hot but the pump is not turning, or it runs intermittently
- Water weeping from the pump body, seals or connection points
Before you order
- Check the appliance data badge to confirm the model is one of the VU 466 variants listed above
- Compare the part number on the existing pump label against 0020211453
- Confirm the boiler is an open-vented VU appliance and not a different Vaillant range
- If in doubt, verify the part against the manufacturer's parts list for your exact model and year
