What it is
The Vaillant automatic air vent, part number 0020198362, is a de-aerator used on Vaillant aroTHERM VWZ MEH and VWZ MWT units. It continuously vents trapped air from the system water circuit so that circulation is not interrupted by air pockets. The vent is a serviceable component and is replaced as a complete assembly.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or dripping from the vent body or cap
- Air continuing to collect in the system despite the vent being fitted
- Gurgling or noisy circulation that persists after bleeding
- Repeated pressure loss with no visible leak elsewhere on the circuit
- Corrosion staining or scale build-up around the vent
Before you order
- Confirm your appliance model against the fits list above before ordering
- Check the unit's manufacturing date: on pre-2016 units, part 10 must also be ordered at the first replacement
- Inspect the mounting point on the appliance for damage before fitting the new vent
