What it is
The 230 V fan wiring harness is a Glow-worm electrical lead that connects the combustion fan to the boiler's control PCB. It carries mains voltage and control signals to the fan, so the fan runs when the boiler calls for heat. The harness is supplied as a complete lead with the relevant plug connectors fitted.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The fan does not run when the boiler calls for heat, with no other obvious fan fault.
- The fan runs intermittently or cuts out as the boiler warms up.
- The harness shows heat damage, brittle or cracked insulation, or exposed conductors.
- Connector terminals are corroded, loose, or show signs of arcing or burning.
- A fan-related fault code appears and clears when the harness is moved or reseated.
