What it is
The Vaillant 0020188930 is a combustion chamber cover gasket for the ecoTEC VU 806/5-5 range of gas boilers. It seals the joint between the combustion chamber cover and the chamber body, maintaining a gas-tight closure at that face. The gasket is a service item and is replaced whenever the cover is removed or the seal is disturbed.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible splitting, flattening or compression set on the gasket face
- The gasket has hardened or become brittle with heat cycling
- Soot staining or dark tracking around the combustion chamber cover joint
- The cover has been removed for inspection or repair and the seal cannot be reused
- Flue gas readings or combustion analysis that suggest leakage at the chamber cover
Before you order
- Confirm the model and GC number on the appliance data plate match the fitment list above
- Check the existing gasket against the part number 0020188930 before ordering
- Inspect the combustion chamber cover face for distortion or damage that would prevent a clean seal
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions for cover removal, gasket fitting and any required checks after reassembly
