What it is

The Vaillant 0020174846 is a 6 bar pressure relief valve for the ecoTEC VU GB range of gas boilers. It opens at its set pressure to discharge excess water from the heating circuit, protecting the appliance and system components from over-pressurisation. It is a serviceable safety component on the appliance.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Water dripping or discharging continuously from the pressure relief discharge pipe
  • System pressure falling repeatedly, requiring regular topping up
  • Valve failing to reseat after operating, leaving the discharge pipe wet
  • Visible scale, debris or corrosion around the valve seat or outlet
