What it is

The Vaillant grommet for pipe, part number 0020173395, is a sealing component used where pipework passes through the boiler casing or internal panels. It is listed by Vaillant for the ecoTEC VU range of boilers. Its role is to protect the pipe at the pass-through point and to close the opening around it.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The grommet is split, cracked or perished and no longer seals the pipe entry point
  • The grommet has hardened and no longer grips or cushions the pipe
  • The grommet has dropped out of position, leaving an open hole in the casing or panel
  • Visible marking or chafing on the pipe where it passes through the opening
  • The grommet is missing after previous service or repair work

Before you order

  • Confirm the boiler model and variant against the fitment list above
  • Check the part number 0020173395 matches the item being replaced
  • Inspect the pipe diameter at the pass-through point before fitting
  • Verify whether more than one grommet is used on the appliance
