What it is
The Vaillant 0020148032 is a 4 way valve coil used on Vaillant Arotherm VWL heat pumps. It is the solenoid coil that drives the reversing valve, which switches refrigerant flow between heating and hot water operation. The coil is the electrical actuator for the valve body and is supplied as a separate component.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The heat pump stays locked in one mode and will not switch between heating and hot water
- Defrost cycles do not complete or the reversing valve does not actuate
- No continuity reading across the coil winding when tested with a meter
- Visible damage to the coil, such as a burnt or swollen body or damaged wiring
- Fault codes relating to the 4 way valve or reversing valve operation
Before you order
- Confirm your appliance model against the fit list above
- Check whether the fault lies with the coil or the valve body, as they are separate components
- Inspect the coil connector and wiring for continuity and secure fitment before replacing
- Isolate the power supply to the heat pump before carrying out any work
