What it is
The Vaillant 0020143508 is an automatic air vent used on ecoTEC VU boiler models. It continuously releases trapped air from the heating circuit, preventing airlocks that restrict water flow and reduce heat output. The vent opens automatically as air collects, so the system does not need manual bleeding at this point.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or dripping from the vent body or cap
- Air continuing to collect in the system after the vent has been bled
- Radiators or the boiler running hot at the top and cold lower down despite correct pressure
- Noisy circulation or gurgling from the boiler that does not clear
- Corrosion or scale visible around the vent seat
Before you order
- Confirm the boiler model and variant against the fit list above
- Check the existing vent for the part number 0020143508 where it is marked
- Isolate the appliance and drain or depressurise the relevant section before removal
- Check the vent seat and surrounding pipework for damage before fitting the new part
