What it is

The Vaillant 0020143505 is a siphon (condensate trap) for Vaillant ecoTEC VU condensing boilers. It collects condensate produced during combustion and discharges it to the drainage point, while maintaining a water seal that prevents flue gases escaping into the condensate route. It is a serviceable component on the VU 806, 1006 and 1206 ranges.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Water leaking from the siphon or the condensate pipework beneath the boiler
  • Boiler locking out or displaying a condensate-related fault
  • Visible cracks, distortion or a damaged seal on the trap body
  • Scale, sludge or debris build-up restricting flow through the trap
  • Gurgling or slow drainage from the condensate route

Before you order

  • Confirm your boiler model and revision against the fitment list above
  • Check the part number on the existing siphon matches 0020143505
  • Inspect the condensate pipework and seals at the same time, as these are commonly disturbed during replacement
  • Have the appliance isolated and drained before fitting
