What it is

A sealing ring manufactured by Vaillant, supplied under part number 0020143460. It is used on Vaillant ecoTEC VU and VU GB boiler models to seal a joint or connection within the appliance. The ring is a service item and is replaced when the existing seal is no longer sound.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Water weeping or a visible drip at the joint the ring seals
  • The ring is hardened, flattened or cracked when inspected
  • The ring has swollen or perished after contact with system water or inhibitor
  • Scale, sludge or debris embedded in the sealing face
  • A leak reappears shortly after the joint has been reassembled

Before you order

  • Confirm the boiler model and GC number against the fitment list above
  • Check how many sealing rings the joint or service procedure requires
  • Compare the profile and diameter of the removed ring with the new one before fitting
  • Inspect the mating faces for corrosion or scoring, as a damaged face will not seal with a new ring alone
