What it is
The Vaillant 0020132683 is a brass diverter valve used in ecoTEC Plus and ecoTEC Pro VUW boiler ranges. It switches the boiler's output between domestic hot water and central heating, directing flow to the correct circuit on demand. The valve body is brass, and the associated adaptor 0020270733 must be ordered separately.
Signs this part needs replacing
- No domestic hot water while the central heating continues to run
- Radiators heating up when only hot water is demanded
- Boiler firing for hot water but the outlet pipework staying cold
- Water passing to the heating circuit when the hot water tap is opened
- Diverter valve body leaking or seized, with the actuator unable to move the spindle
Before you order
- Confirm the boiler model and GC number against the fitment list above
- Check the existing valve is the brass type and that the part number 0020132683 matches
- Note that adaptor 0020270733 is required separately and is not supplied with this valve
- Verify whether the fault lies with the valve body or the actuator before replacing

Fitment listings are a guide, not a guarantee. Plant-room assemblies get modified on site more often than not. Send us the GC number off the data badge and a photo of the existing valve and we will confirm before anything is dispatched.
