What it is

The EXPANSION VESSEL - 8LT is a sealed 8 litre diaphragm vessel used in Heatline gas boilers, manufactured by Heatline under part number 0020126680. It absorbs the volume increase of water as the heating circuit warms, limiting pressure rise and protecting the system from excessive expansion. It is listed for the Capriz PLUS and Monza appliance families.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • Boiler pressure rises sharply when the system heats up and falls again once it cools
  • Pressure relief valve discharges water during normal heating cycles
  • System pressure drops repeatedly and requires frequent topping up
  • Water is found at the vessel's Schrader valve when the charge is checked
  • Audible or visible corrosion or distortion at the vessel body

Before you order

  • Confirm the boiler model and variant against the fit list above
  • Check the existing vessel's capacity marking to confirm 8 litres is correct
  • Verify the system pressure behaviour to be sure the vessel, not another component, is at fault
  • Allow for safe depressurisation and isolation of the boiler before removal
