What it is

A Vaillant O-ring, supplied in a pack of five under part number 0020107589. It is a sealing component used at joints and connections on the listed Vaillant gas boilers and Arotherm heat pumps, where it prevents water or system fluid escaping past a mating face. The ring is compressed between two surfaces to form the seal.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • A visible weep or trace of water or system fluid at the joint the ring seals
  • The ring has hardened, flattened or taken a set and no longer sits proud of its groove
  • Cracking, splitting or a nicked edge on the ring
  • Scale or corrosion debris embedded in the ring surface
  • A leak reappearing at the same joint shortly after a service or component change

Before you order

  • Confirm your appliance model against the fit list above before ordering
  • Check the part number on the existing component or in the manufacturer's parts list for your model
  • Establish how many O-rings the joint or service requires, as the pack contains five
  • Inspect the mating faces and groove for damage or scale, as a new ring will not seal against a scored face
