What it is
A 3-way diverter valve made by Glow-worm, part number 0020097214 (previously 0020213146). The diverter valve switches the boiler's output between central heating and hot water when a tap is opened; a faulty valve can leave a boiler stuck on heating or unable to produce hot water.
