What it is
This is a Vaillant gasket, supplied under part number 0020078062. It is used across a range of Vaillant Ecomax and Ecotec VU and VUW appliances, where it forms a seal between mating components to prevent leakage. Gaskets of this type are a service item and are typically renewed whenever the joint they seal is disturbed.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible water or staining around the joint the gasket seals
- A weeping or dripping joint that continues after the fastenings are correctly torqued
- The gasket is flattened, hardened or cracked when inspected
- The gasket is deformed or has taken a permanent set after the joint has been opened
- Reassembly of the joint without a new gasket, where the old one has been disturbed
Before you order
- Confirm your appliance model against the fitment list above
- Check the part number on the existing component or in the manufacturer's parts list
- Check whether more than one gasket is required for the joint you are working on
- Confirm the appliance has not been superseded by a later model with a different sealing arrangement
