What it is

The air pressure switch is a Glow-worm component used on Betacom C series gas boilers. It monitors the pressure created by the combustion fan and signals the appliance's control board that air flow is proven before ignition is allowed to proceed. If the switch does not make, the boiler will not fire and will typically go to lockout.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The fan runs but the boiler fails to ignite and goes to lockout.
  • Repeated lockouts on start-up, cleared by resetting the boiler.
  • Intermittent firing, with the boiler sometimes running and sometimes refusing to light.
  • Boiler locks out shortly after the fan starts, with no flame established.
  • Fault code or lockout pattern consistent with an air flow proving fault.

  • Check the GC number on the appliance data badge against the model listed.
