What it is
The Vaillant 0020039723 is a gasket supplied as a spare part for Vaillant standard water heaters. It sits between mating surfaces inside the unit and forms a seal that keeps water contained at the joint. As a service component it is replaced when the original seal has hardened, deformed or started to weep.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or dripping from a joint that the gasket seals
- Visible water staining, crusting or limescale trails around the sealing face
- The gasket feels hard, brittle or flattened rather than pliable
- The gasket is split, compressed or has taken a permanent set
- Repeated pressure loss traced to a sealed connection
Before you order
- Confirm the part number 0020039723 against your appliance's documentation or the existing component
- Check whether the joint also requires a seal kit or additional washers to complete the repair
- Inspect the mating surfaces for corrosion, scoring or scale before fitting a replacement
- Isolate the water supply and depressurise the unit before opening any sealed joint

Fitment listings are a guide, not a guarantee. Plant-room assemblies get modified on site more often than not. Send us the GC number off the data badge and a photo of the existing valve and we will confirm before anything is dispatched.
