What it is
A Vaillant washer, part number 0020028112, supplied for the Unistor VIH S range of unvented hot water cylinders. It forms a sealing face at the joint it is fitted to, preventing water loss and air ingress at that connection. It is listed by the manufacturer under orings, washers and gaskets.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Water weeping or tracking from the joint the washer seals
- Visible hardening, flattening or cracking of the washer material
- Scale or corrosion deposits on the sealing face
- A leak that reappears shortly after the joint is tightened
- Damp staining or drips below the cylinder connection
Before you order
- Confirm the cylinder model and build year against the data badge
- Check the part number 0020028112 against the manufacturer's parts list for your appliance
- Establish how many washers the joint requires before ordering
- Inspect the mating faces for damage, as a scored face will not seal with a new washer alone
