What it is
The Glow-worm Outside Wall Seal (DN 100) is a sealing component used where the flue or pipework passes through an external wall. It is supplied under Glow-worm part number 0020020496 and forms part of the boiler's external sealing arrangement. The seal closes the gap at the wall penetration to limit draughts, water ingress and heat loss around the opening.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible cracking, perishing or hardening of the seal material
- Water tracking or damp staining on the internal wall around the flue or pipe penetration
- Draughts or cold air entering at the wall opening
- The seal has become displaced, compressed or detached from the wall
- Debris, mortar loss or gaps visible around the external penetration
