What it is
The Glow-worm 0020018616 is a washer pack supplied for the Xtramax HE gas boiler. It falls within the O-rings, washers and gaskets category of boiler spares and is used to seal joints where a washer is specified in the appliance assembly. Washers of this type are fitted to maintain a watertight or gas-tight joint at the point of connection.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible water weeping or dripping from a joint where the washer is fitted
- The washer has hardened, cracked or perished with age
- The washer is flattened or deformed and no longer sits proud of its seating
- Water staining or corrosion around the joint after the appliance has been running
- A leak reappears shortly after a joint has been reassembled
Before you order
- Confirm your appliance is a Glow-worm Xtramax HE and check the model against the manufacturer's parts list
- Identify which joint on the appliance requires the washer and confirm a washer pack is the correct item for it
- Compare the existing washer with the replacement before fitting to confirm it seats correctly
- Check whether more than one washer is required for the work being carried out
