What it is
The Glow-worm 0020014174 is a flow sensor supplied for Flexicon and Ultracom appliances. It sits in the water circuit and detects movement and rate of flow, passing that signal to the appliance control board so the boiler can decide when to fire and how much output to demand. A failed sensor leaves the board without reliable flow information, which typically shows up as poor or intermittent hot water rather than an obvious mechanical fault.
