What it is
This ignition control printed circuit board is a Ravenheat control board used across the manufacturer's CSI range of gas boilers. It works as the control centre of the appliance, taking readings from sensors, switches and thermostats and regulating each stage of the operating sequence. It also holds the boiler to its safety limits, shutting the appliance down when internal readings move outside normal parameters.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler drops to lockout and needs repeated manual resets
- No ignition spark, or the burner fails to light when there is a call for heat
- The fan or pump runs but the appliance never fires
- Intermittent shutdowns or erratic behaviour during a heating or hot water demand
- Fault codes or error indications linked to ignition or board control
