What it is

The Ravenheat cable electrode is the high-tension lead and electrode assembly that carries the ignition voltage from the boiler's control board to the burner. It is manufactured by Ravenheat for the CSI range of gas boilers and forms part of the ignition circuit, so the appliance can light reliably on demand. The assembly is listed under part number 0012CAV03005/0 and is also recorded under GC number 371-278.

Signs this part needs replacing

  • The boiler fails to light, or lights only intermittently on a call for heat.
  • Repeated lockouts during the ignition sequence.
  • A weak, irregular or absent spark at the electrode.
  • Cracking, sooting, corrosion or burnt insulation visible on the lead or electrode tip.
  • The lead has been disturbed during servicing and the insulation or connector has been damaged.
