What it is
The Ravenheat Earth Electrode, part number 0011RIV06006/0, is a flame sensing electrode used on Ravenheat CSI 85 series gas boilers. It provides the earth reference for the flame rectification circuit, allowing the PCB to confirm that a flame is present at the burner. The electrode is mounted in the combustion area and connects back to the boiler control via its lead.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Boiler locks out or fails to prove flame shortly after ignition
- Repeated ignition attempts followed by a lockout fault code
- Flame cuts out during operation once the burner has lit
- Visible damage, corrosion or heavy sooting on the electrode tip
- Cracked or perished insulation on the electrode body or lead
Before you order
- Confirm the model and gas type from the boiler data badge
- Check the existing electrode against the part number 0011RIV06006/0
- Inspect the electrode lead and connector for damage before fitting
- Verify the boiler has been isolated from the electrical supply before any work begins
