What it is
The Service Valve CH is a central heating service valve supplied by Glow-worm under part number 0010040098. It is used on Glow-worm Compact series combi boilers to isolate the central heating circuit for servicing and maintenance. The valve allows the heating side of the appliance to be shut off without draining the full system.
Signs this part needs replacing
- Visible weeping or dripping from the valve body or spindle
- The valve spindle is seized and will not turn when isolating the heating circuit
- Water tracking past the valve stem during servicing
- Corrosion, scale or mineral build-up around the valve connections
- The valve fails to hold pressure when closed, so the heating circuit cannot be isolated
