What it is
The Vaillant 0010029434 rope seal is a manufacturer-supplied sealing component for Vaillant Ecotec and Ecotec PLUS condensing appliances. It forms a gas-tight seal at the joint where it is fitted, preventing leakage of combustion products and loss of flue pressure. It is a service item, replaced whenever the joint it seals is disturbed or the existing seal has degraded.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The existing seal is frayed, flattened or breaking up
- The seal has hardened or become brittle and no longer compresses
- Soot, condensate or staining is visible around the joint it seals
- Combustion readings drift or flue gas is detected at the joint
- The seal is disturbed during servicing or component removal
Before you order
- Confirm your appliance model and GC number against the fit list above
- Identify the exact joint the seal serves before ordering, as more than one seal may be used on the appliance
- Inspect the mating surfaces for corrosion, pitting or debris, as these must be clean and sound for the seal to seat correctly
- Check the manufacturer's parts list for your appliance variant if your model is not listed
