What it is
The Ravenheat 0008VAL06007/0 is a gas valve used on Ravenheat wall-mounted and combination boilers in the CSI 85 family. It is a Honeywell valve that controls the supply of gas to the burner, opening on a call for heat and closing when the demand ends. The valve also regulates the rate at which gas is delivered, so the boiler can modulate its output rather than running at a fixed rate.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler fails to light, or lights and then locks out shortly afterwards.
- No gas reaches the burner even though the boiler is calling for heat.
- The flame drops out during a run cycle and the appliance goes to a fault code.
- The flame is erratic or the boiler cycles on and off instead of holding a steady burn.
- The valve no longer modulates, leaving the boiler stuck at a fixed firing rate.
