What it is
The Ravenheat 0008VAL06006/0 is a gas valve built for the CSI Primary family of Ravenheat boilers. It is a Honeywell valve that sits on the gas train between the incoming supply and the burner, opening and closing on a signal from the boiler's control board and regulating gas pressure so the burner output matches the heat demand. When it stops responding correctly, the boiler will typically fail to light, lock out or run at a fixed rate regardless of demand.
Signs this part needs replacing
- The boiler fails to light, or attempts ignition and then locks out
- The burner lights but the flame drops out shortly afterwards
- The boiler does not respond to a call for heating or hot water
- Flame height or modulation stays fixed instead of tracking demand
